Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Before Digital: Post 1970 Photography in Alberta, this symposium will feature presentations and panel discussions with artists participating in the exhibition as well as regional artists utilizing photography in their practice.

The three panels, moderated by ACAD Faculty, will address: processes within photography and what it means to be a photographer in the 21st century; social documentary, representation and ethics in photography; and an exploration of the complex relationships formed around landscapes, places and identities.

Following the symposium, please join us for a reception at 7pm and extended gallery hours to 9pm. This panel is free and open to the public.
