David Christensen (he/him) is a filmmaker and a photographer.

His photographs have been exhibited at the Medium Photographic Festival in San Diego and the International Print Competition at the Print Center in Philadelphia, as well as in group shows in Minnesota, New Orleans, and Toronto.

As a director and producer of documentary, drama, and animation, David’s work has earned two Oscar nominations, an Emmy nomination, the FWA Site of the Year award, and multiple honours at the Canadian Screen Awards.

His films have screened at major festivals worldwide, including IDFA, the Locarno Film Festival, Hot Docs, and the Toronto International Film Festival, and have opened MoMA’s Documentary Fortnight in New York.

Evelyn Drake (she/her) is a passionate advocate for visual storytelling and a driving force in Calgary’s photography community. As Marketing Manager at The Camera Store, she has spent more than a decade supporting photographers of all levels through education, community outreach, and industry collaboration. Evelyn brings a deep understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of photography, alongside a strong network within Canada’s photographic landscape.

As a board member of the Exposure Photography Festival, Evelyn is eager to contribute her experience and insight to help shape the festival’s future, continuing to build a vibrant platform for photographic arts in Alberta and beyond.

Jarrett Edmund (he/they) is a Calgary-based multimedia artist working across photography, experimental film, and art criticism. As an active member of the international experimental photography movement, his practice pushes the boundaries of film photography into abstract and speculative realms, exploring sound, colour, and surrealist imagery in dialogue with contemporary sociological issues.

Alongside his artistic work, Jarrett is Marketing Manager for the Calgary Folk Music Festival, where he leads communications strategy for two major festivals and a year-round concert series. He has documented more than 30 international music festivals and continues to collaborate with arts organizations and creative communities across Canada.

Jarrett is an active advocate for the arts in Calgary, helping to strengthen the city’s cultural landscape through collaboration, mentorship, and community leadership. He is dedicated to supporting emerging photographers and fostering inclusive spaces where creativity can thrive.

Brady Fullerton (he/him) is a lens-based artist and academic whose work explores trauma, masculinity, isolation, mental health, addiction, and beauty through a documentary approach to the everyday. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and uses photography to investigate philosophical questions while navigating personal experiences of mental health.

Brady’s award-winning work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows, online, and in print. He is currently developing Nowhere, a photographic exploration of trauma and memory in his hometown of Drumheller, Alberta, supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and Calgary Arts Development.

Beth Kane (she/her) is an arts manager, curator, and administrator with over eight years of experience working across the arts in the UK and Canada. She is currently Manager of Visitor Experience at Contemporary Calgary, where she leads visitor engagement and curates the bookshop, developing collections that deepen connections with exhibitions and programs.

Previously, Beth was Festival Manager at the Exposure Photography Festival, where she led five editions of the festival. Her curatorial practice focuses on photography, with projects presented through festivals, galleries, and public programs. She has worked with organizations including FORMAT Festival, Chinook Blast, Multistory, and the University of Derby, and continues to support emerging artists through mentorship, writing, and jurying. Her published work includes features in Elephant magazine and contributions to Moments in Focus: A Decade of Visual Storytelling.

Jennifer Kapala (she/her) is an underwater portrait and conceptual photographer whose work transforms the human form into fluid, dreamlike compositions that blur the boundaries between movement and stillness, surface and depth. Her conceptual practice extends beyond documentation into visual storytelling that challenges assumptions and invites curiosity.

Based in Calgary, Jennifer brings this same spirit of exploration to her role on the Exposure Board of Directors. She pairs her creative vision with a strong background in strategic leadership, helping to expand Exposure’s reach while supporting both emerging and established photographers.

Sanja Lukač (she/her) is a visual artist, curator, and community activator based in Calgary/Mohkinstsis. She is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for equity-seeking artists, communities, and audiences to connect through art. As Senior Curator of Visual and Media Arts at the Werklund Centre (formerly Arts Commons), her work focuses on artist development and support across career stages and disciplines.

With a background in public art, publishing, and arts education, Sanja is passionate about mentorship, equity in the arts, and supporting interdisciplinary and newcomer creatives. She also serves as Programming Chair and Director at the Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI). A strong advocate for sustainable darkroom practices, she co-authored The Stimulant, an eco-conscious photographic developer, and previously founded SEITIES STUDIO, an international gallery and publication dedicated to analog photography.

Armando Salazar is a documentary photographer and educator whose work explores family life, memory, and the passage of time. He is the author of two books, Preludio (2015) and Contra el Tiempo (2022). His long-term projects often focus on his own family, creating an intimate archive of personal growth and everyday experience.

Armando holds a Master’s degree in Screenwriting from the University of Barcelona and an MFA in Photography from the University of Calgary. For 17 years he taught documentary film and aesthetics at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. He now teaches documentary and video production at Mount Royal University in Calgary. His research and practice engage with diary film, personal cinema, and the aesthetics of home movies.

Stasia Schmidt is a fine art photographer based in Calgary whose work explores simplicity, form, and unexpected surrealism within landscapes and portraits. Drawn to themes of femininity and the natural environment, her practice uses photography to push creative boundaries and challenge expectations, creating vivid and resonant images.

Her work has been exhibited in group shows across Canada, the United States, and Europe. In 2024, Stasia was recognized as the Canadian awardee of the Leica Women Foto Project and was named Emerging Artist of the Year by the Exposure Photography Festival for her celebrated Ephemerality series. The series also inspired her first photo book, published as part of the Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize in Photography.
