GROWING AUDIENCES
REGISTRATION INCLUDES
Exposure works as an amplifier. Registration connects an exhibition or event with the festival's audiences, brand, and network, and helps bring people through the door. Every registered partner receives the following benefits:
-
Each partner gets a featured post on Exposure's Instagram. Exposure prepares the post and caption and sends a collaboration invite, so it takes one tap to appear on both accounts.
-
Partners can submit a short reel to be shared as a collaborative post on Exposure's Instagram, reaching the festival's audience directly.
-
Ready-to-use Exposure-branded templates in multiple sizes, pre-written captions, and brand guidelines, delivered in one easy download folder.
-
An Exposure volunteer photographs the exhibition, and the images are shared with the partner afterward for their own use.
-
Thousands of guides are distributed across festival venues, galleries, and local businesses, helping audiences find and navigate the full festival.
-
Every registration is listed on the festival website, promoted through newsletters and social media, and included in the official press release. Past coverage includes CBC Radio, CTV, British Journal of Photography, AnOther Magazine, Ciel Variable, Avenue, and PREVIEW.

REGISTRATION FEES
Exposure partners range from publicly funded institutions to independent artists covering production costs on their own. A single flat fee didn't reflect that range, so registration now works on a tiered model, with fees starting at $100. Every tier receives the same promotion and benefits.
Tiers are self-selected, with no verification required. Choose the tier that best fits your circumstance. Partners with the capacity to register at a higher tier help keep the festival open and affordable for everyone.
Note: Related events (openings, closings, artist talks, workshops) are free and unlimited with any registered exhibition.
Museums, public galleries, and commercial spaces with dedicated exhibition staff and budgets.

FEE WAIVERS
We recognize that for some artists and spaces, any registration fee is the difference between taking part and sitting the festival out. This year, Exposure is offering eight full fee waivers.
5 IN DOWNTOWN CALGARY
For exhibitions and events in downtown Calgary, made possible by the City of Calgary’s Downtown In Motion grant.
For exhibitions and events across the province, including outside Calgary. Reserved for Organizational and Independent-tier partners.
3 ANYWHERE IN ALBERTA
Apply: Submit the fee waiver form by November 20, 2026, with a short description of the exhibition or event and how a waiver would support it.
Review: A panel of Exposure's Festival Manager and board members reviews each application, considering curatorial concept, artistic strength, and overall impact.
Hear back: Applicants are notified by November 30, 2026. Anyone not awarded a waiver can still register at their tier before the deadline.
