UCalgary Student Photography Showcase

The Photography Club at the University of Calgary is home to a diverse group of students from varying academic backgrounds and skill levels, working across both digital and analog photography. Founded in 2023 in response to the lack of a consistent and accessible community for student photographers, the club was created as a space to connect, share, and grow together through a shared passion for image-making. As the founding members enter their final year(s) of their undergraduate studies, a central focus among the team has become the active celebration and showcasing of student work. We are deeply committed to the belief that no level of experience, access to resources, or economic status should be a barrier to creative expression. This exhibition is rooted in the values of equity, encouragement, and mutual respect––where every photographer, regardless of skill level, is given the confidence and space to share their voice, and where individual perspectives are recognized and valued within a supportive collective. Submissions will not be limited to any specific theme, but is an opportunity for participants to share their unique lenses.
