The Exposure portfolio walk is the perfect opportunity to share work with fellow photographers and industry professionals in a casual setting. Join us for an evening of conversation and exchange. See amazing photography and meet the artists!

This event will take place after the Exposure 2023 Portfolio Review.

Advanced registration is required for photographers wishing to share their portfolios, so please use the following Portfolio Walk Registration Form (for Photographers) to secure your space. Limited space is available and registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis. DEADLINE TO REGISTER: 15 February, midnight MT

Registration is not required for those who want to attend the event to see the work of the participating photographers.

Exposure & The Camera Store: Zine Share & Swap

Local zinesters are invited to share and swap their zines and connect with the local community.

If you make zines that include photography and/or are related to the photographic medium, art, collage, skateboarding, and/or mental health, come and hang with us! Zines can be works in progress and can be home printed (if printed, please bring multiples if you can!)

Arrive at noon when we’ll ‘share’ our zines via short self-introductions. At 1pm we’ll ‘swap’ our zines and connect with one another over drinks and snacks, provided by Exposure and TCS. If you’re a zine-fan but don’t create your own zines, please feel free to come to the event and hear from others about their work.

This event is Co-Hosted by the Exposure Photography Festival and The Camera Store with Supporting Partners AUArts Hear/d Arts Residency.

FREE First Thursdays x Exposure Festival Launch Party

Join us at Contemporary Calgary, our Festival HQ, to help us launch the nineteenth edition of the Exposure Photography Festival!

We’ll celebrate the opening of the Exposure 2023 curated exhibitions, International Open Call, Emerging Photographers Showcase, Emerging Photographer of the Year: Raeann Cheung, as well as Exposure’s and The Magenta Foundation’s collaborative youth exhibition, Flash Forward Incubator Program.

At 7pm we’ll reveal the names of the recipients of the prestigious Exposure 2023 Awards: the Emerging Photographer Of The Year Award, the Emerging Photographer Merit Award, the TREX Southwest Emerging Photographer Award, the Shutter Hub Emerging Photographer Award, the Grain (UK) Emerging Photographer Award, and the Magenta Foundation Emerging Photographer Award.

This event is in collaboration with Contemporary Calgary’s FREE First Thursdays! Explore the galleries, join the YYC/LRT workshop, jump in The Film Lab's photo booth, connect with Antyx Community Arts Hip-Hop Club, enjoy thoughtfully crafted beverages by Sugar Water Bar, international cuisines by Healthy Baby and music by HOT SAUCE BOOGIE.
